Our Story

Cody & I met at Circle Six Ranch Baptist Camp in the summer of '05 while we were working as summer staffers.  We started dating at the end of that summer and pretty soon we knew we were meant to be together forever!  Cody asked me to marry him on June 28, 2007 and we were engaged for a little over a year before we were married on July 19, 2008.  I graduated from Texas Tech in December of 2008 and then we moved to Coleman, TX over Christmas break so I could start my new job as the Family & Consumer Sciences County Extension Agent.  Our lives just kept moving faster & faster as my job picked up momentum.  Cody started a job in January working for LVI in Coleman and then was hired as the youth minister at our church, Valera Baptist.  Needless to say we were very busy all the time!  In June of 2009, we were blessed to find out we were pregnant!  We were so excited and couldn't wait to start this new journey in life!!!  In July, we found out we were having twins!  After I got over the shock and let it sink in, I was very excited...Cody was excited from the beginning :)  Then, at our 12 week appointment we found out we only had one baby.  We had lost one between 6 & 8 weeks :(  We were very upset but still happy we had one baby that was healthy.  It was a very bitter sweet time.  I had a wonderful pregnancy...very little morning sickness, just nausea but no problems other than that :)  On February 28th I woke up at 4 am & knew I was in labor!  I waited until around 6:30 to tell Cody & then we finally headed to the hospital around 8.  Once we arrived at the hospital an hour later, they were about to send me home because I wasn't dialated yet!  They gave me lots of water and made me walk for about an hour & then my water broke lol...so they had to keep us :)  Long story short, after two epidurals and labor all day they finally did a c-section at 1:25 A.M. and we got to meet our beautiful baby girl, Anslee Dawn!  She is the light of our world and we are so blessed to be her parents!  Our lives continued to truck along busy as ever & we enjoyed watching Anslee grow :)  We loved helping with the youth at church & watching them change & grow.  I also loved my job, but felt that it took too much time away from my family.  I always wanted to be a stay at home mom so you can imagine how hard it was for me to work full days plus nights & weekends most of the time.  I took Cody & Anslee with me whenever I could just so I could spend time with them.  As our lives just got faster & faster I realized that I had to start working on my master's degree for my agreement with work...I had 8 years from the time I started to complete my masters.  I finally started in the Spring of 2012.  I was driving an hour to & from classes 2 nights a week plus working full time!  We also found out in February that we were expecting our second blessing & we were sooo excited!  I very soon began to feel like I couldn't handle everything though...the tiredness from the pregnancy plus all the stress from working & school was weighing down on me.  Cody & I began to pray for God's guidance in our lives because we felt like it was spinning out of control.  At the end of March, we received a phone call about applying for positions at Circle Six where we met.  At first we said no, but then we just couldn't get it out of our minds.  We kept praying and then we received another phone call and decided that was our sign from God that we were supposed to take those positions.  So, at the end of April we packed up & moved to Stanton to work at the camp.  Things started out great, but the work load while being pregnant really caught up to me since we were short staffed.  Then we found out at our 20 week appointment that we lost our baby boy, Jackson Lee.  We had to go home from our appointment, pack a bag, and be admitted to the hospital so I could deliver.  It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.  The following week we had a grave side service for Jackson, which wasn't easy either.  We both went through a roller coaster of emotions in the months after & I went through swings of depression.  At the end of August, a friend told me about the skinny wraps with It Works and how she had lost inches overnight.  I decided to try it because I wasn't happy with my body at all & they worked!  So I decided to start selling the products to make some extra money.  I was hoping to be able to stay at home with Anslee :)  In November, I decided to quit my job at the camp & then Cody quit in December.  We weren't able to have hardly any family time or time to go to church and fellowship with other believers.  God blessed us with a wonderful job for Cody & the opportunity for me to stay at home with Anslee & sell my It Works products.  For the first time in a while, we are really happy & are at peace with where we are & what God wants us to do :)  Sorry this was so long, but thought I would go through all the background before I just started posting.  Thanks for reading!
